In 1995 the three founders of Timber Specialists got together from a variety of different backgrounds to form the company. Peter Jenkinson, John Leatham and Kevin Smith started trading in January 1996 with a staff of just 5!

Over the years we have grown to employ around 50 staff across all three branches with an annual turnover figure more than £13m. Many of our staff have been employed long term and have over 650 years of sales experience in the industry.

Although there have been changes in the day to day running of the business, the original three families are still the owners of the companies.

We stock a huge range of timber products, including long lengths and large sizes, all available for fast delivery – guaranteed within 48 hours, often within 24!

Each site is Chain of Custody certified, ensuring our timber products come from responsibly managed forests.

We offer a fantastic delivery service across our fleet of vehicles, including pickup trucks, flatbed wagons and HIAB trucks with mounted crane. This variety of vehicles enables us to reach the most difficult of places!

We cover all local areas as well as further afield deliveries.

Collections are also available at all our branches; we also work with various suppliers who offer a direct to site delivery service for larger orders.

Not only do we hold a huge stock of items, but we can also source bespoke and specialist items. Just let us know what is needed and we’ll arrange it.

All branches are equipped to offer a bespoke cutting service for timber and sheet materials. We also specialise in cutting firrings to your required dimensions.
